Nothing is cuter in this world than unlikely animal friendships. There is something so pure and precious about them that you can’t help but get warm and fuzzy feelings.
And for the past couple of years, there has been an elk herd that visit the property of one Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer and his pet dog, Trygge. While the elk herd is impressive enough of a sight, there is something else that is equally amazing.
Trygge, being the friendly dog that he is, managed to befriend the leader of the herd: a large bull elk. They’ve even invented their own little game.

As the herd watches, the bull elk and Trygge play a game of tag – chasing one another up and down the fence.
What is so adorable to watch is how these two seem to have this unspoken yet completely respectful interaction that makes it fun for everyone involved.
Bill Vogrin, the spokesperson for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, said to The Dodo, “They never seem to get aggressive with each other. In fact, the bull could easily jump into the yard if it decided to. But they keep their distance across the fence line.”
Hopefully, this great friendship will continue for many years.
