Super Bowl Winner Celebrates By Paying For The Adoptions Of All The Dogs At A Shelter

By now we all know who won the Super Bowl: The Kansas City Chiefs. And in order to celebrate the major victory, Derrick Nnadi has decided to do something wonderful – he’s paying for adoptions at a Kansas-based dog shelter.

The KC Pet Project made the announcement via Facebook that the 23-year-old defensive tackle player covered the cost of adoption fees for every single adoptable dog at all of their locations!

Nnadi, along with his teammates, managed to pull off the team’s first Super Bowl win in 50 years by beating the San Francisco 49ers 31 to 20.

Discussing Nnadi’s kindness via Facebook, a volunteer for the KC Pet Project wrote, “KC WINS! We are so excited to announce that the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, Derrick Nnadi is choosing to celebrate the Super Bowl win by paying for the adoptions of all the adoptable dogs currently at KC Pet Project! We have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn’t have thought of a better ending.”

Nnadi, who also owns two dogs of his own, first announced a partnership back in September between the KC Pet Project and the Derrick Nnadi Foundation.

With each triumph that the Chiefs experienced this season, Nnadi pledged to pay the adoption fees for a dog waiting on a forever home at one of the shelters – and it worked wonders.

KC Pet Project revealed to CBS News that each of the dogs who Nnadi funded throughout the season managed to find them forever home.

“Thanks to his incredible support following this win, more than 100 available dogs in our care will have their adoption fees sponsored starting today. We’ve had an average of 20 new dogs coming into our shelter every day recently so this comes at a great time as our shelter is full of wonderful pets looking for homes.”

What a wonderful way to celebrate a victory. Thank you Derrick Nnadi, we have no doubt the dogs are grateful for your generosity!
