Soldier Gets Smothered In Doggie Kisses After A 10-Month Deployment

Dogs are perhaps the only ones who will patiently wait however long it takes for us to come home. And that is why it’s such a wonderful feeling coming home to them, as they always roll out the red carpet of excitement and affection when they see us coming.

For one woman returning from a 10-month deployment in Africa, it was a particularly touching reunion – especially given that she didn’t expect her dog, Miss May, to be as excited as she was.

Casandra Cabrera shared with ABC News that when she left, Miss May was only a puppy.

Cabrera said to The Dodo, “I left when she had just turned 1, and wasn’t sure if she would remember me after all that time. Her reaction absolutely warmed my heart.”

Once she arrived home in the Sacramento Airport, she was met by her family – all who were excited to see her, particularly Miss May, whom they’d brought along for the arrival.

In the video, Cabrera came down the escalator to the greetings of her family, all eager to welcome her back. But no one was as excited as Miss May. And the border collie showed her excitement at being reunited with Cabrera by running straight into her arms.
