Overheated Dog Tries To Cool Down In A Tiny Bird Bath

“If I fit, I sit” is the motto of cats everywhere. We’ve all seen the YouTube videos or viral Facebook pictures. But it would seem that this cat-like behavior has rubbed off on some dogs. And now we have the photographic proof that some dogs are willing to try to fit themselves into tiny spaces.

One German Shepherd dog was caught by his owners in a very comprising position: trying to fit into the birdbath. The Oklahoma-based family was braving the summer heat when their dog decided that he’d had enough. What do you do when you are hundreds of miles away from the nearest beach? You make do with what you got. Since the family didn’t have a pool in their yard, the next best thing was a birdbath.

This clever pooch must’ve left a lot of birds disappointed when he took over their small bath. But in the hilarious video, you can watch as he climbs into the tiny pool and then curls himself up tight enough to fit into the bath. Minus the water displacement, he must’ve been feeling pretty chill. What a smart boy!
