Now this is a friend group that I really want to be a part of: Bahamian rescue raccoon, Pumpkin, and her friends, Royal Bahamian Potcake dogs, Toffee and Oreo.
The group was formed shortly after Pumpkin was only a few days old and had fallen out of a tree into someone’s backyard. The family noticed that the raccoon was struggling, however, they didn’t want to interfere in case her parents came to get her. Unfortunately, no mother raccoons came to get her.
Wildlife officials were called out, and they were told that Pumpkin was too little to survive on her own in the wild without a mom. The family couldn’t leave her helpless to die in their backyard. Therefore they decided to adopt her and get her healthy again.
Now, Pumpkin is living her best life in the Bahamas. Thankfully, on the tropical islands of paradise, raccoons don’t have any rabies, therefore there is no law against keeping them as pets. She’s got her adopted brothers to keep her company.
