Snapchat has so many filters. We’ve all had the satisfaction of spending hours on the app just taking a bunch of silly pictures using the different filters. I personally love the ones that make it look like I’m wearing make-up – absolutely no need to put on a full face for Snapchat. But how many of us love to spend an evening playing around with all the different possibilities. Most of us who own dogs have probably tried to get them in on the fun. I once spent a weekend pet-sitting for a friend who owns a little Jack Russell. There was a thunderstorm so there wasn’t much to do but stay indoors and watch TV. But once Netflix lost its appeal, I ended up playing around on Snapchat with the different filters. And poor Millie was my test subject for many of them.
One of the most common filters that we probably all have used on our dogs have been the face swap filter. The results are bizarre enough with two humans doing it, but if you try to swap with your dog the results are just playing terrifying. However, pet owners can now rejoice since there is a filter that is specifically meant to be used on dogs. How fun! This new filter will turn your precious pup into the Disney cartoon – but it doesn’t just benefit dogs, it can work on people too!
The filter was brought to the attention of the Facebook group, Dogspotting Society, by one excited dog owner who posted pictures of the filter being used on her own pooch.
In the post, she wrote, “For those that don’t know…Snapchat has a new filter and it basically Disneyfies your dog. YOU ARE WELCOME. Plz post your Disney dawgs here.”
That opened the flood gates for many people to share their own experiences with their pups. And the results were plentiful! There were thousands upon thousands of comments and photos being added to the discussion thread.
Most of the dogs looked exactly like something from a Disney animation studio. However, the filter didn’t work for all the dogs, like the poor pup whose snout was too large to fit the filter – this meant his nostrils got the Disney treatment rather than his face. Still a funny look though!
No doubt that this filter will be providing lots of entertainment for dog owners everywhere!
