Contrary to what the media often portrays, cats and dogs do get along. A lot of these interactions even go beyond just a tolerance for each other to what can be described as loving friendships. My dog was best friends with our outdoor cat for her whole life. And the two of them were like peas in a pod most of the time – except for the times he’d roughly kick her out of her own doghouse.
When one dog owner, Sara, was thinking about getting a companion for her dog, she put a lot of thought into it. Sara felt guilty that she was always having to leave her Alaskan Husky behind during the day. Even though it’s part of being a dog owner, she still felt bad that Kuma was all by himself.
As Sara considered a friend for Kuma, she encountered Tora. The adorable little kitten was so endearing that Sara couldn’t help but adopt her – especially after she learned that the tiny feline was used to being around dogs.
Sara was still cautious when she introduced the two for the first time. Even though she took her precautions when bringing them together, all her nerves were quickly dashed once she saw how they acted towards one another. The little kitten displayed affection towards Kuma. And the large husky was more than happy to reciprocate by planting a big wet kiss on the little feline. It was just too sweet!
