Using only £60, or the USD equivalent of $78.61 one stay at home mom in Newport, Saffron Walden, in the UK, has created a wonderful haven for her dog underneath the stairs.
31-year-old Georgina Beetlestone created her 9-month old Pomeranian, Minnie, a beautiful little room under the stairs that is the perfect little doggie oasis – complete with all kinds of doggie decor. The room has a bed, appropriately-themed wallpaper, as well as a framed photo of Minnie’s parents.

Georgina, who is a mom to 11-year-old Lilly-Ella, and 19-month-old Jesse, said, “I have always wanted to make one but I didn’t have any under stairs space in my previous property. When I moved to this property a year ago, I saw the potential for a dog room and decided to make it.”
She added, “My friend’s partner cut the hole for me, I made a patrician to put inside the cupboard, I put sticky tiles on the floor and put the wallpaper and a LED light because I didn’t want it to be all gloomy- all I need is name plaque now.”

Georgina even went the extra mile for her pup, explaining, “I even called the breeder and asked for a photo of Minnie’s parents. I was waiting for it to dry so I didn’t put her inside yet but it looks like she likes it because she keeps going to see. The whole thing cost me £60 for the wood, the MDF board, the wallpaper, and the tiles. I really enjoyed making it, I loved it- she is so sweet she deserves it.”
Now that is one dedicated dog-mom!
Proud of her DIY handiwork, Georgina showed off the finished product online to her Facebook, where she was quickly praised for the great job that she did.

Who knows? Perhaps with all these requests, Georgina can start a business for herself transforming people’s under the stairs cupboards into lavish doggie rooms.
