Man Waits On The Street Corner For Days To Help Missing Dog Find Her Owner

If you’re a dog owner or just an animal person in general, it’s difficult to pass by a lost dog and not want to stop and help.

Charlotte resident, Jason Gasparik, was out by his neighborhood post office when he noticed a chocolate lab who was clearly lost. Unable to bring himself to walk the other way, he was compelled to help the scared dog. He took her home with him, where he immediately took to social media to try and locate her family. He uploaded pictures of her to Twitter, Next Door, PawBooster, and Facebook, however, no one seemed to have a clue as to who she belonged to.

That is when Gasparik took the dog, Roxy, to the vet to see if she was microchipped. She was, and Gasparik felt relieved as he dialed up the number. However, the relief was short-lived since on the other end of that phone call was a Pennsylvania breeder who barely remembered selling the dog to someone in Charlotte as it had been several years prior.

Viewer Julie Holmes shared a photo with us of a man standing on the corner of Ballantyne Commons Parkway and Rea Road in Charlotte Saturday trying to find a lost dog's owner.

The microchip turned out to be a dead end.

Nevertheless, Gasparik remained determined to help Roxy find a home. He decided to get creative, and a little old-school, by fashioning a cardboard sign that read, “Do you know this lost dog?” The next day, the duo stood on the corner of a busy street and waited. Then, the next day, they returned to the same place and waited again.

Eventually, Gasparik’s appeal ended up paying off when Roxy’s owner, Sam, happened to be driving through the neighborhood looking for her. Roxy, who’s real name was revealed to be Indy, were happily reunited thanks to Gasparik’s Good Samaritan ways.
