Man Hesitantly Asks Hotel If He Can Bring His Dog And They Go All Out

As dog owners, we’ve probably travelled around with our dogs at least once. Most of us have probably done simple day trips with our pups to somewhere outdoorsy that can be enjoyed by both dogs and owners. Some of us might have even gone a bit further and take our dogs away for overnight stays. But in those instances, it’s not always easy to find appropriate accommodation. There are many of us that go out of our way to find suitable accommodation for our pups, which is why we might search for Airbnbs that allow pets or rent an RV which allows for more mobility with our dogs. But sometimes we might get lucky and find a hotel that allows dogs – all we need to do is ask!

And that is exactly what one man did while planning where he was going to stay during his vacation with his dog. As dog owners, we all know that our pets are very well-behaved. Sadly, not all hotels or B&Bs allow dogs despite them actually being wonderful guests. Taking a gamble, one man decided to reach out to a hotel to ask if they allowed dogs on their premises.

He wrote to the hotel, “I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?”

He then sat back and waited to see what would happen. But he didn’t anticipate such a quick response from the hotel owner. Not only that, but the response was actually pretty positive!

The owner of the hotel responded with, “I’ve been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I’ve never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware, or pictures off the walls.”

The owner even added, “I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you’re welcome to stay here, too.”

The points that the hotel owner raises are quite accurate. All dog owners would agree that our dogs are often better behaved than some humans, yet they’re not as widely welcomed. But at least the dog owner got his answer plus a place to stay. It just goes to show you that sometimes all you need to do is ask for permission.
