Man Builds A Special Rooftop Lookout Post For His Dog

After moving into a new home, one dog in Hawaii has found himself with a brand-new job: family lookout!

Twitter user, Alyxah, posted the pictures of the family dog’s new lookout digs, explaining the story behind the unusual perch.

The dog, Check, had been left alone by the family in their new home. Thinking nothing strange would happen, the family went about their day, only to receive a concerned phone call from their neighbors. As it turns out, Check decided to explore the new home from top to bottom – literally! The neighbors called because Check had somehow gotten up onto the roof.

As Alyxah explained to Reshareworthy.com, “My boyfriend Nic and his dad built it because they had moved into a new house with a large lanai with access to the roof. [T]he first day they had left their dog alone they called the fire department because he had made his way to the roof to get a better view and see where we had gone.”

Instead of blocking off access to the roof, the family decided to work with Check. They made him his own lookout post. The finished results were uploaded to Twitter by Alyxah.

As she said, “So Nic’s dad blocked the access to the roof and made a little lookout for Check so he can see us leave and come home. And also so he could hangout up there during the day.”

Apparently, Check likes to keep an eye on any strangers walking by – what a good boy!

It would seem that this adorable canine has no fear of heights and is enjoying his new post atop the family home.
