Most people would stop whenever they see a random dog wandering the streets. After safely approaching the dog you would pull the ID tag and proceed to call the owner…But what if the ID tag had a message?

This is exactly what happened to Tyler Wilson while getting gas close to his house in Kentucky. The kind Wilson stopped to help when the seemingly ownerless yellow lab approached him.

Wilson told The Dodo, “I’ve seen the dog a couple of weeks before around that area. So when he came up to me at the gas station and sat next to me, I was like, ‘This dog has been lost for a while.'”
Thinking he was lost, Wilson was relieved to see the dog was wearing a collar. Doing what any person would do, Wilson immediately checked his ID tag for phone number or address.
Instead, what Wilson found was a hilarious surprise.

Rather than the owner’s information, the dog tag said, “My name is Dew. I am not lost. I like to roam. Tell me to go home.”
Relieved to know that Dew wasn’t in any sort of harmful situation, Wilson took his time telling Dew to go home. He made friends with the dog and even got a hug out of the encounter.
“I pet him and even hugged him. He got me a little wet from the rain, but it was worth it,” stated Wilson.

Dew is actually well-known to the townspeople for being that friendly dog that likes to go out and about and interact with people. Dew spends his days wandering around but always returns to his family’s 70-acre farm at the end of the day.
As a result, they’ve learned there is no taming Dew’s adventurous spirit, and just let him go about his day.

Thankfully, the dog is microchipped and wears a GPS collar so that his owners know where he is at all times.
Dew even has his own Facebook where people can keep up with his daily adventures!
