The Karelian Bear Dog is a Finnish breed that was traditionally used for hunting squirrels, moose, lynx, wolf, and the Eurasian Brown Bear. The breed has been utilized as bear control tools in both Yosemite and Glacier National Parks and by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. They are extremely social dogs that thrive outdoors and need plenty of space and exercise. They must be given a job in order to be fulfilled.
