Irish Wolfhounds Give Their Grandmother With Alzheimer’s The Warmest Welcome

Dogs and older adults are such sweet pairings. It’s always clear to see that dogs bring a source of joy to older people. That is why many nursing facilities will often invest in a therapy dog to come visit their residents since it does provide them with happiness.

And seeing the bonds that dogs share with older people is just precious – like the Irish Wolfhounds Liadan and Mulligan.

These two giant dogs were actually quite gentle, and they shared a special love with their owner’s 76-year-old mother. Every time they saw her, they’d give her a very affectionate welcome.

What made this bond even more special to witness, was the fact that the older woman had Alzheimer’s. And the dogs were just so kind and gentle with her. This was quite significant, because of the fact that she could still remember the dog’s names, and ask how they’re doing, really showed just how much of an impact dogs can make in someone’s life – not to mention how much love is there between them.

The woman’s laughter and happiness at seeing the two doggies is certainly something that will bring a tear or two to your eyes. So before you watch the video, you may want to reach for a tissue.
