A wildfire camera recently captured an unlikely friendship between a coyote and a badger traveling together.
The video shows the two buddies using a culvert to travel underneath a highway near Gilroy, California. It was taken by Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and Pathways for Wildfire.
According to experts, it’s not unusual for the two species to link up as studies have shown that badgers and coyotes hunt together.
Both species are carnivores and often hunt for the same prey – like squirrels.
In the viral video, we watch as a coyote is playfully pouncing before the badger waddles into view. P.S. The badger’s wobble is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
Although scientists believe this happens often, the POST believes this is the first time a coyote and badger duo has been captured on camera in the Bay Area.
This might be the best thing you see all day! 🐾Our wildlife cameras spotted a coyote and badger traveling together —…
