Husky Howls In Protest While Recovering From Anesthesia

How many of us have had the experience of undergoing minor surgery or other outpatient procedure that requires us to be sedated with anesthesia and then released? It’s not a fun experience at all. While the loopy effects of the anesthesia can give us a little bit of a drug-addled candor that others might find entertaining, for those of us actually under its effects, it’s not fun. That’s usually when we’re starting to come out of the stupor, and when the pain is setting in.

For our pets, they also struggle with the effects of anesthesia following their own medical procedures. And they too, don’t always like it. As pet owners, we’ve probably all seen our dogs coming out from under the effects of anesthesia at least once in their lives. Most of our dogs are wobbly on their feet, or they are a little more silly than usual. But for one husky, Zeus, the effects of recovering from being under the influence of anesthesia just amplified his already chatty side.

When the husky went to the vet to get a growth removed from his eye, he spent the entire day at the vet’s office for the procedure. By the time his owners came back to collect him, Zeus was waking up from the anesthesia. And he was not a happy camper. We can only imagine that his eye was sore, he felt out of sorts, and he probably hated having to wear a cone as well. So, naturally, being a husky, Zeus figured the best thing he could do was to voice his displeasure at his circumstances.

The stubborn husky spent the whole of the car ride home howling in protest. He was probably listing out all his grievances to his owners for bringing him into the vet as well as making him wear a cone. But, it did make for an adorable video. And his trip didn’t turn out to be so bad after all, since Zeus did get a lot of TLC from his buddy Kaden when he arrived home.

You can check out his protests in the video below:
