Homeless ‘Dog’ Woman Rescues On The Side Of The Road Turns Out To Be A Coyote

A Good Samaritan, Andrea Athie, was driving down a long deserted road when she spotted an injured “homeless dog” on the side of the road and immediately pulled over in order to assist the skinny dog – heartbroken to see the poor thing had a badly injured leg. She knew that it must have been struck by a car, so she drove the dog to the nearest veterinarian clinic for medical attention.

On the drive to the vet, the grateful “dog” cuddled up to Andrea, sweetly expressing his gratitude through kisses. At the clinic, Andrea was astonished to learn that the sweet and docile dog was – as the vet confirmed – a wild coyote!

The poor coyote was in bad shape and his health was rapidly declining due to his many internal injuries. In a race against time, the vet reached out to a wildlife rehabilitator in order to get the coyote the proper medical care he needed. Unfortunately, after spending 5 days in the wildlife hospital, the coyote passed away from his injuries.

Andrea was beyond devastated, saddened by the loving memories of the car ride with the coyote. At least she was able to give him some comfort and help in his last days.
