Family Reunites With Their Dog 3 Years After She Went Missing

Our pets are our family. When misfortunes happen and they end up getting loose and getting lost, it’s a very scary situation. I’ve been fortunate to never have lost a pet to the unknown of the streets, but I’ve had friends who’ve gone through that experience. It is a feeling of pure helplessness. 

When one family’s dog got out, they were devastated. And the devastation continued for three years as Ella never returned home. Her owner, Theresa Hobson, mentioned how she didn’t give up hope. “I left food out there through the winter. I was afraid. I didn’t want her to be out in the cold.”

Even though Ella had been gone for three years, Theresa didn’t give up hope that someday she’d see her again. And three years later, the Humane Society finally had some good news. She’d been found. Ella was spotted around Butler Toyota. At Ella was quite shy and stayed away from people. But eventually, the pup was captured by rescuers and brought in for a microchip scan. That is when they found out that she was about six miles from home, and they were able to reunite her with Theresa. 

It was a very tender moment:
