Enter Your Pet To Be The Next Cadbury Bunny

If you’re a millennial then you’ll probably remember Cadbury’s Clicking Bunny in those commercials that featured “tryouts” of various animals – such as pigs, lions, llamas, and more – wearing bunny ears as they “auditioned” for the starring role in Cadbury’s next ad.

Every time that commercial aired, you knew that Easter was right around the corner.

However, now Cadbury is actually inviting pets to audition for the role of the Cadbury bunny by wearing a pair of ears and doing their best bunny impressions. If you think that your pet has got what it takes, then you have from now until the 24th of February to go to Cadbury’s website and submit a picture of them in bunny ears, as well as describing why the should be on TV.

From all the applications, a panel of judges will then choose 20 semifinalists to submit videos of their pets wearing bunny ears – the video shouldn’t be longer than 3 minutes and should include at least 15 seconds of pets sitting still and facing the camera.

Also, it is important to note that the ears cannot be computer-generated, therefore your pet will have to keep a physical pair on.

Cadbury and famous pet influencer, JiffPom, will then be selecting 10 finalists from the video submissions and will be announcing them March 4th. Then, America will be choosing the ultimate winner from the selection of finalists by vote March 4-18th.

The winning pet must be able to perform in front of the camera while wearing the ears, and both you and your pet must be available to film the commercial between March 19-23, 2020. Should your pet be unable to perform, or if you’re unavailable for filming during those dates, then the finalist with the next highest score will be picked.

Besides receiving the coveted role of the iconic Cadbury Clucking Bunny in a commercial, the winning pet will also receive a check to the value of $5,000. Cadbury will also be making a donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), in the form of $10,000.

This is the second year that Cadbury is holding this contest in search of a new “bunny.” Last year, the lucky winner was Henri, an adorable English bulldog.

While Henri is no stranger to fame through his own Instagram account where he wears all sorts of outfits, your pet doesn’t have to be “famous” or an “influencer” in order to qualify.

If you need a little audition motivation for your pet to really hone their Cadbury character – or if you’re just a little nostalgic – then here’s the original 1994 commercial:
