Dog Watches On As His Best Friend To Recover From Surgery

There is no one more loyal than a dog. They will patiently wait for you through anything – even major surgery. If Ruuxa the cheetah didn’t know just how loyal his best friend was, he certainly does now. The little cheetah had to have surgery done on his front legs due to the fact that they were growing abnormally.

After waking up form the life-altering surgery, Ruuxa was greeted by a familiar face. Raina, a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, had been waiting for her buddy to wake up. The faithful pooch had sat through the entire operation, refusing to leave the feline’s side. It was an unwavering act of loyalty, and Ruuxa is so lucky to have such a devoted friend.

The two live at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park together. The animal training manager for the park, Susie Ekard, said that the canine was very worried about Ruuxa because she was unable to wake him after the surgery. As Ekard explained, “She licked him and nuzzled him, and when he awoke, she lay with him and seemed very content to know her cheetah was okay.”

If that just doesn’t pull at the heartstrings, we don’t know what will. These two inseparable besties will definitely have a very long and happy life together. And that makes us so happy.
