Dog Was Abandoned At A Gas Station, So They Gave Him A Job

If you hang around somewhere long enough, people will notice. And that is exactly what happened to a stray dog who was hanging around a gas station’s construction site. The dog was a stray in the town of Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil, and his persistence ended up paying off with a forever home plus a full-time job.

Sabrina Plannerer and her partner bought the Shell gas station during its construction phase. Soon, the pair noticed there was a big black dog on site. After asking around, they learned he’d been abandoned by his former owner.

The couple then decided to adopt him. They took him to the vet for his shots and an overall health checkup. And once they opened their new gas station, they even gave him a job.

This adorable little pupper was even issued an official ID badge, plus a uniform.

For this former stray, it’s been a real rags-to-riches story. And he’s doing very well for himself at work – his smile is proving to be popular with the customers.

As Plannerer explained to The Dodo, “Negão waits for people to arrive, and then goes up to say hello, winning them over with his charms. Customers love him. Some people even bring him toys.”

While at work, Negão also gets to enjoy regular walks by the staff. This dog has also become somewhat of a local celebrity and hero for the nearby animal charity called Grupo FERA – which works to find homes for strays in similar circumstances as Negão.

I don’t know about you, but I’m tempted to book a trip to Brazil just to meet this adorable gas station employee!
