Dog Throws A Major Tantrum When Mom Says ‘We’re Taking The Stairs’

I think I just found my spirit animal. Nala is a friendly dog who loves making new friends with people and going on adventures. However, Nala does not like to exercise – same!

As her pet mom, Aurora Angel Beste described her to The Dodo, “She’s quite the character. So friendly but so, so lazy.”

Since Nala doesn’t care much for exercise – particularly when it’s not of her own initiation, she and her mom usually end up taking the elevator. And, if they don’t ride the elevator, the stubborn husky demands to be carried.

On a recent trip to the vet, Nala’s doctor mentioned that she was starting to get a little chubby. That is when Beste decided that it would do both of them some good to get a little more movement into their day – Nala was not happy about that.

Beste figured that from now on, each day, they could take the stairs. It didn’t take long for Nala to formally protest the decision.

“Her first day doing stairs was kinda rough,” Beste posted to Facebook.

Both Beste and Nala live on the fifth floor, however, by the second floor, the husky was clearly over it.

Somehow, they managed to make it to the fourth floor, where Nala proceeded to find a corner of the wall and press her nose into it, refusing to look at Beste – just like a little kid throwing a tantrum.

And in one climactic ending, when they reached the fifth and final floor, Nala showed off her theatrical flare with a dramatic collapse.

And while I’m sure this clever canine was probably trying to score sympathy points so she’ll never have to endure the stairs again – it, unfortunately, has not convinced Beste, who is standing firm in taking the stairs long term.

Since the first foray up the stairs, Nala has reluctantly embraced her new fate. She’s still, for the most part, largely protesting this new change.

“It depends on her mood now,” Beste revealed. “Sometimes she’ll go up without a fight and sometimes she’s so stubborn. But she has no sense of urgency so even if she does go up — she takes her sweet time.”

While others may hope that Nala will come to love the stairs, Beste certainly won’t be holding her breath.
