Dog ‘Teaches’ His Little Brother How To Sit

Dogs are quite smart and good at learning basic commands, as well as following them. They are definitely ‘rule followers’ unlike their feline companions. However, it’s adorable whenever a dog decides to impart some of its knowledge on other animals around them.

Growing up, our dog, Bonita, was best friends with our rabbit S’mores. Whenever we’d let S’mores out to play in the yard, Bonita would follow him around, discouraging him from digging in the yard since she knew digging was a no-no.

It was adorable to watch, much like the video of Rufus, an English Mastiff, who tries to teach his brother, Jet, how to follow the command “sit.”

“Sit” is a very basic command that most dog owners teach their dogs before moving on to the more difficult lessons.

While some dogs pick up on the lessons rather quickly, others take a little longer to come around to it. And in the adorable video, one owner caught Rufus trying to help his brother Jet. The intelligent pup helps Jet to connect the command to the action by putting pressure on Jet’s backside until he sits! If that wasn’t adorable enough, he followed it up by placing his paw on Jet’s back as though telling him to stay.

The owners were tickled by this moment, laughing at how cute it was. And after the video was released to the internet, many other people found it equally endearing – even making its way to America’s Funniest Home Videos.

It’s impossible not to smile at the video.
