Just like human children, our dogs have a favorite toy that they just can’t live without. Growing up, our family dog really enjoyed a giant stuffed octopus that she used to take with her everywhere. She had it for years – while it started out with eight legs by the time we had to throw it away, it was down to two-and-a-half legs and had lost all its stuffing.
That is the thing about our dogs – they love their favorite toys, but they also will rip the stuffing out of them as well. It’s not that they’re being mean, it’s just the way they play. And one little adorable black Labrador, got a little too rough with hers.
The pup, named Abby, pulled out the entrails of her toy. Luckily for her, not all hope was lost as her owner was more than happy to repair the damage. However, this didn’t mean that Abby herself wasn’t worried about her toy the entire time. As her owner diligently repaired the damage, Abby was nearby, patiently waiting for the surgery to be complete. And her patience paid off. Her owner got it done and the toy was ready for the games to continue.
Of course, Abby was more than thrilled, wagging her tail like crazy when the toy turned out to have been able to survive playtime. Hopefully she’ll be a little more gentle next time.
