When dogs bond with someone, they don’t ever forget those bonds. That includes places associated with the people they love. When one dog owner was out walking her dog Piper, she decided to do a little experiment, as she explained to the camera.
The owner revealed that they were about to walk past the place where her grandparents lived – a place that Piper loved to visit. As she explained, “Piper loves them.” However, according to the owner, they had not been to the home in over a year.
But knowing that Piper had such a strong connection with her grandparents, the owner wasn’t all that surprised when it actually turned out that Piper very much recognized where they were and wanted to go inside. It was actually a bit heartbreaking to watch the video as the little dog tugged at her leash, desperate to race inside and say hello.
The owner then had to explain to the sad pooch that they couldn’t stop and had to keep going. Little Piper was quite reluctant to leave, and was forcibly trying her best to stay and drag her owner towards the door of the house.
Hopefully this video will be a reminder to all dog owners, your pets are more than capable of remembering places and people. So, try not to make them sad by taking them somewhere they used to know, if you can’t produce the loved ones they remember.
