Dog Cries Watching The Scene In ‘Lion King’ When Simba’s Dad Dies

Show of hands, who hasn’t cried while watching a Disney film? Bambi was always a personal killer for me as a kid, and I think most of us can agree. While most Disney movies are pretty sweet and cheery, they do often have very depressing subplots that make us cry.

And apparently, it’s not just us humans who occasionally break down at sad scenes in Disney movies – animals do too!

Josh Myers filmed his precious pit bull-boxer named Luna, reacting to the iconically depressing scene in The Lion King when Mufasa dies. Clearly able to understand what is happening on the screen, Luna whimpers and cries while watching Mufasa get betrayed to death by his brother.

Josh posted the video to his Facebook, accompanied by the caption, “So Hannah and I were watching the Lion King while Luna played wildly with her toys. But right as Mufasa falls to his death, she stops and turns to the TV to watch. To see her crying at the TV was the sweetest thing I think I’ve ever seen. She even lays down right after Simba lays with his dad….We don’t deserve dogs. 💚 4 months old and she’s already showing empathy.”

Naturally, a video as precious as that quickly racked up the views and soon had almost 5 million views on Facebook alone – not to mention the tons of shares that it received as well.

Needless to say, this dog’s display of empathy has the internet losing their minds. And because of it, Luna has become a viral sensation. We really don’t deserve dogs. They’re way too pure!
