We can learn a lot from animals, particularly how to be better friends. Often times human friendships are complicated by unnecessary drama. But not in the animal world. If you look at animals and the way they form friendships, it’s quite pure and wholesome. They basically pick a friend and stick with them – no drama. Dogs are quite friendly and they seem to be the ones who often end up becoming friends with animals outside their species.
For this reason, we can’t get enough of unusual friendships between our dogs and different animals. There is something innately adorable about seeing a dog and another animal form a close bond. At the moment it’s a dolphin and a dog that have people on the internet melting at the purity of their bond.
What is even more adorable is that these two have been friends for years! Gunner the dog and Delta the dolphin are trending across social media after their adorable photos were uploaded to Twitter by on social media user named Ken.
Given the heartwarming nature of the pictures, it’s easy to see why people are absolutely in love with them. After the pictures were posted within the week they managed to gain 1.3 million likes as well as 242,000 shares.
The story behind these life-long friends is even more touching. As the Twitter account We Rate Dogs, Delta was four years old when she first met Gunner, who was a teeny tiny puppy of eight-weeks-old. How cute is that?
That puts their friendship at seven years. Gunner is now seven while Delta is ten. In the sweet pictures these two share an undeniable bond. There is even a picture of Gunner giving Delta a big ol’ lick! These two are so lucky to have each other as friends.
