Back in 2011, Tracy Whyatt decided it was time to follow her dreams and pursue her passion for saving the lives of dogs.
Tracy and her husband, Scott, then began taking road trips where they would pick up dogs from Texas kill shelters and taking them to other states where they were relocated in hopes of finding their forever homes.
Tracy and her husband’s tireless work means that since they founded Tracy’s Dogs, they were able to help more than 3,700 dogs who would’ve been euthanized, find their forever homes.
It wasn’t long before Tracy’s Dogs was asked to partner with PetSmart in order to set up meeting places for new owners and dogs to meet. That meant that every month there would be applications filled out, and after owners and dogs were matched up and went through the pre-adoption process, Tracy would then transport dozens of dogs in a 32-foot trailer to the different designated meeting points: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, and Florida.
A video from HooplaHa – Only Good News, captured the moment when some of the new owners met their new dogs. It was a very emotional video for a lot of people who viewed it.
One person commented, “I cried with happiness through most of this video. I have never seen so many adorable dogs get adopted on the same day. It seemed like most of the dogs knew that they were finally going home to their forever family and would never worry again. I can’t believe that if it wasn’t for your help these dogs would no longer be here. This was the most heartwarming thing that I have seen in a while.”
