Being a child and having a pet run away is a special kind of pain that you never forget. Thankfully that never happened to me, but I’ve seen from friends the kind of devastation that it leaves.
So when 11-year-old Rocco Risso lost his dog Jack, he was left completely heartbroken. After Jack went missing, Rocco and his family scoured their neighborhood in Argentina trying to find him. Sadly, at the time, Jack was nowhere to be found, adding to Rocco’s desperation.
Upset, Rocco clung to the hope that one day, he would find Jack again. Thankfully, after eight months, Rocco’s hopes and prayers were answered when a family friend was at a gas station. They noticed that there was s tray dog nearby who looked strikingly like Jack. After further inspection, it was Jack! The Risso family was completely shocked but at the same time, so relieved to know that they’d be reuniting with their dear Jack. And nobody would be more thrilled than Rocco. However, Rocco’s home decided to surprise Rocco, and didn’t tell him that Jack had been found.
She made all the arrangements for Jack to be returned, and her secret paid off. As soon as the two besties saw each other again, it was pure joy – neither boy nor dog could contain the excitement they felt at being together again.
