Millie was a 7-year-old Bull Terrier rescued by Pibbles & More Animal Rescue. Like many rescue dogs, there isn’t always a lot to tell about a dog’s backstory. All they could tell when they first picked her up, was that she’d had several litters of puppies and had not received adequate medical care.
However, Jill Stafford, the woman who fostered her, quickly began to pick up on the fact that Millie probably didn’t get to experience the normal joys of being a dog in a family.
For example, when Jill gave Millie a bone, the dog didn’t know what to do with it. Millie simply pick it up and put it down several times while just looking confused. It wasn’t until Millie saw what Jill’s dog, Mia, was doing with the bone, that she figured out what to do. Then, she finally began to chew on what Jill could only speculate as her first ever bone.
The surprises continued to come when Millie discovered the joys of a bed. Jill managed to get it all on video how Millie reacted to being able to relax in a real bed – and it’s just so sweet to watch.
Millie’s story did end happily, as she was adopted into her forever home where she’ll no doubt be given the love and attention she deserves.
