Dog From ‘Fuller House’ Passes Away Following Complications From Surgery

The very much beloved cast member of “Fuller House,” Cosmo, has sadly passed away. The golden retriever underwent surgery on Monday but unfortunately did not recover. His death was announced over Twitter.

The announcement post read, “We’re sad to share that the Fullers’ faithful dog Cosmo, who grew up on our set, passed away after complications from surgery. There will never be another quite like our boy. We’ll miss him forever.”

The Tweet included a yellow heart emoji in correlation with Cosmo’s fur. Fans were quick to respond to the sad news.

One fan commented, “Oh my gosh. Rest easy Cosmo!! Prayers to the family.” and followed it with a number of heart emojis.

Another added, “I’m so sorry for the loss of your special cast member and part of the Fuller family.”

A third person wrote, “Oh no, so sad. Run with the [rest] of the doggies that have gone before you Cosmo. You are free.”

One of the cast members, Candace Cameron-Bure mourned the loss of Cosmo in a series of Tweets after the release of the official announcement.

She wrote, “So much love. Our sweet boy Cosmo is now running around in doggie heaven. I imagine he’s playing with Comet right now. Cosmo has been in ‘Fuller House’ since the start and we are heartbroken that he passed away during surgery complications. You’ll be so missed love bug.”

Cosmo was just a puppy when he was included in the start of “Fuller House.” he even appeared in the show’s first sneak peek, where he’s seen listening attentively to Uncle Jesse, played by John Stamos. As the show progressed, he easily won his way into the hearts of fans.

As it turns out, Cosmo is the great-grandson of Comet, the original dog from the original “Full House” series. That connection definitely had fans hyped.

“Fuller House” has already filmed its season 5, so there will be no need to replace Cosmo or mourn him on the series itself. However, there will most likely be a title card or dedication in remembrance for the show’s most adorable cast member.

The first part of “Fuller House” was released to Netflix on the 6th of December. Meanwhile, the streaming service will release the final half of the episodes sometime in early 2020.
