Mac’s Mission is a rescue from Jackson, Missouri who specializes in helping homeless dogs with urgent special needs or injuries – or just any type of dog that would otherwise be euthanized. Normally, Mac’s Mission helps Pit Bulls, but they will take in any type of breed that needs help. Besides special needs, Mac’s Mission also takes in pets with zero chance for survival, due to shelters and other rescues not having enough resources.

Recently, Mac’s Mission rescued a puppy and older dog who were found straying out in the cold alone. When they were picked up, the rescue quickly realized that the puppy had something unique about him: a tail that was growing out of his forehead. The volunteers with Mac’s Mission had definitely never seen anything like it before, so it was a first for sure.
Since the tail reminded them of a unicorn’s horn, they chose to name him “Narwhal.”

Narwhal also has a little foot injury, although the extent of it will have to be confirmed by the vet through x-rays. They’ll also have his facial tail looked at as well.
Nevertheless, Narwhal seems to be otherwise in good shape, and as the rescue states, he seems to be a pretty happy and friendly little fluff ball.
