3-Year-Old Boy Forms An Unbreakable Bond With His Foster Family’s Dog

Man’s best friend. I’m sure if you were to check Instagram there would be no shortage of hashtags. The social media site is the perfect place for dog lovers obsessed with their canine companions to post all about their adventures together.

You have the thrill-seekers who post about the adventures they go on with their dogs. You also have the dog and owner pairs who dress alike. And amongst the endless feed of dogs and owners living their best lives, you’ve got Reagan the labradoodle and his “Little Buddy” – the family’s foster child – who do both.

Reagan is a labradoodle, meaning he’s a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. His owner, Oregon resident Sandi Swiridoff, adopted him when he was just 11-months-old. And Sandi was happy to see him instantly bond with another 11-month-year-old who was special to her: her foster grandchild.

Swiridoff told NBC News. “There was that instant bond. They just loved each other from day one.”

And the pair of best friends do everything together, from snuggles in bed, to having impromptu pajama parties, to just going for strolls outside by the lake. They’re inseparable as they take on their activities – and usually while wearing either matching outfits or costumes.

These two certainly have style – no wonder the gram loves them!

Naturally, the pair’s cuteness was just too much to ignore, that Sandi began to document their pair, sharing everything to her Instagram page, Reagandoodle.

And to this day, two years later, the account is more than 125,000 followers strong. In fact, the popularity of the page has paved the way for an Etsy shop to follow.

On her Esty shop, Sandi plans to sell her still-in-progress picture book featuring Reagan’s relationship with Little Buddy. The book’s focus is to bring attention to the importance of foster care. All proceeds will be given to Foster Parents’ Night Out, a non-profit organization.

“I feel like it’s a story that needs to be told in addition to cute pictures. The good that they’ve been able to do for each other, and for foster kids everywhere,” Sandi explained.

What a lovely gesture.

The book won’t be launching until next year. But in the meantime, you can purchase a Reagan-themed calendar, which is equal in its cuteness.

Meanwhile, take a look at some of the adorable pictures below:
