Young Boy Raises Over $80K To Buy Bulletproof Vests For Police Dogs

9-year-old Brady Snakovsky has raised more than $80,000 to put towards the purchasing of bulletproof vests for K9 officers across the US. Brady has aspirations to become a police officer when he grows up. He was inspired by his idea after watching one of his favorite cop shows, “Live PD.” While watching, Brady noticed a K9 officer was not wearing a bulletproof vest. That is when he decided to do something about it.

Brady asked his mother if he could purchase a vest for a K9 officer who needed one. But, after doing some investigation, the mother and son discovered that just one vest could cost up to $1,200! As a result, they set up a GoFundMe page in order to raise the money.

The GoFundMe page had a goal of $100,000 and while it’s still climbing, they’ve managed $86,000. The Ohio State Highway Patrol made sure to reach out to Brady and his family in order to thank them. They also posted on their official Facebook page.

“Brady is the founder of Brady’s K9 Fund, a non-profit organization that raises money to purchase body armor for police canines,” they wrote. “Both Atos and Ure are wearing vests that Brady’s K9 Fund recently purchased. As of this week, Brady has donated 72 protective vests to police canines across Ohio and New York.”

“The troopers met with Brady to thank him and his foundation for their generous donations,” the post added. “They also presented Brady with the pictured trooper badge wall sign as a personal thank you. Thank you, Brady!”

Trooper Jim Baker, whose K9 partner was one to receive a vest, had nothing but praise for Brady and his mother.

“It makes me feel great knowing that not only is he protecting me, but I’m also protecting him,” he said. “It’s a great partnership.”

On the GoFundMe page, it said, “I hope to provide as many vests as I possibly can to the very deserving officers that are out there. Currently, we have a waiting list of 20+ police officers who have contacted us in need of a vest. With your help, we can help provide them with one.”

Brady hopes to one day be able to provide all K9 officers with bulletproof vests.

As the GoFundMe page states, “With donors’ help, he’s starting to make that dream come true — one dog at a time.”

We’re so proud of Brady’s amazing work that he is doing for K-9 law enforcement!
