It’s official! This year’s Cadbury Bunny was announced and the winner turned out to be none other than the adorable two-legged dog from Richmond, Ohio: Lieutenant Dan!
And it was some stiff competition too, Lieutenant Dan was up against a mini-horse, a pig, a llama, a hamster, a duck and two cats – all who were vying for the coveted spot as the 2020 Cadbury Bunny during the tryouts. However, it seems that this inspiring little dog won the recognition he deserved after winning the hearts of many on social media.
The Ohio-based pooch is a coonhound, and given his condition, he was named after the iconic character from the movie, “Forrest Gump,” who lost both his legs during the Vietnam War.

Lieutenant Dan’s owners previously adopted him from a rescue. They have described the cute canine as having a “joy for life that is infectious and inspiring,” despite the fact that he may have some differences. According to them, none of his differences have slowed down his zest for life in the slightest.
Previously, Lieutenant Dan already had quite the following on his own Instagram, with 6,000 loyal followers. Given his added fame and exposure as the Cadbury Bunny, there is no doubt that he will be tripling his following now!
