This Website Warns You If A Dog Dies In A Movie

There is some pretty upsetting stuff in films and TV shows. But for the most part, we can watch without issue because we reassure ourselves that it’s not real so it’s fine.

But even the most stoic of us can’t help but fall to pieces and cry when the dog in the movie meets a sad ending.

In fact, there are many people – my father included – who will refuse to watch a movie if they think there’s even a hint of something tragic surrounding a pet.

While we can’t change the outcome of any popular films, at least there is a website dedicated to preparing viewers if there is something sad about to happen.

Does The Dog Die is a website that provides “crowdsourced emotional spoilers for movies, TV, books and more” so you can check ahead of time as to whether or not a four-legged character meets a tragic fate.

The extensive database even spans 11 types of media, including movies, TV shows, books, video games, and comic books – which means you can live in denial across all forms of entertainment sources.

The website doesn’t just cover dog deaths, either. The categories not only covering the fates of dogs but those of cats, horses, and other animals as well. It even goes further than animals and shows other topics people might not want to see such as blood/gore, ghosts, someone vomiting, the revelation that Santa isn’t real, or simply if something has an unhappy ending.

The website can also warn potential viewers of other areas that might be triggering, like domestic violence, eating disorders, child abuse, miscarriage or abortion, sexual assault, drug use, addiction, hate speech or even strobe effects.

The Does The Dog Die website is also regularly updated, and normally crowd-sources information from fans across social media.

Basically, it’s your information goldmine. You’ll never have to be sad or upset again. Well done internet!
