Aging is not for the faint of heart. As people get older, they start to experience many changes that are difficult, such as losing loved ones or close friends. It is never an easy adjustment, and so, many older people often find themselves feeling more lonely as they age.
One thing that many older people tend to get joy out of our pets. Pets are those wonderful companions that never leave your side. Unfortunately, sometimes, they too, end up passing away as well.
One family decided to do something very special for their grandpa who had not only lost his beloved wife but his precious dog as well – both losses occurring within the span of 4 months.
In order to help him adjust, his family brought him a wonderful surprise.
As Davy Vanhaesendonck posted, “After a marriage of 63 years together, grandma past away on July 26th, 2014 after a short, but intense disease. Grandpa also lost his doggy all within 4 months. To give him energy and the courage to continue his life… We gave him this present. A moment filled with emotions!”
The moment was all filmed on camera, and then later uploaded to social media. Needless to say, the moment the family surprised their grandfather, turned out to be a very emotional one.
