Dog Puts The Car In Reverse And Does Donuts For An Hour

It’s not unusual for dogs to love to ride around in cars with their owners. Dogs always look so happy when they’re riding shotgun in the passenger seat with their head stuck out the window – the wind blowing through their hair, and that long pink tongue of theirs just flopping around everywhere.

Well, apparently for one black Labrador in St. Lucie, Florida, riding shotgun wasn’t enough. This brazen little pooch decided that they were going to be in the driver’s seat. And, according to the neighbors, this Fast and the Furious canine really had some moves while he spent nearly an hour doing donuts by himself.

One neighbor, Anna Sabol, told WPTV, “I figured, ‘how the heck did they manage to do that?’”

Sabol recalled her confusion as she woke up to see her neighbor’s gray sedan driving backward in a circle around her shared cul-de-sac. The car was completely driverless.

It took her several minutes to shake the sleep and upon closer inspection, she was shocked to see that there actually was a driver in the car – just not one you would expect.

As fire trucks and police cars arrived on the scene, the car was finally able to be stopped. And as the police opened the door, who should step out of the car but a very happy black Lab with his tail wagging furiously.

“I thought they should give that dog a license to drive,” Sabol told WPTV. “He was a better driver than a lot of them I’ve seen.”

That can’t really say great things about Florida drivers, given that the Lab managed to take out a mailbox, a trash can, and part of a brick wall. Plus, he also left numerous skid marks on the pavement.

“He was doing pretty good until he hit the mailbox,” the neighbor said. “He went around for about an hour without hitting anything at all.”

After nearly an hour of doing donuts, the police managed to get control of the car again before there were any serious injuries. The happy dog was completely unaware of all the damage he caused or the risk he was taking since the neighbor said that he seemed very pleased with himself.

“I saw the dog jump out of the car, wagging his tail,” Sabol laughed. “I was like ‘Okay, good driving!’”

What a cute dog. But good thing nothing bad happened. You can watch a video regarding the incident below:
