Dog Ownership Deepens Our Romantic Relationships, According To New Survey

Life is better with a dog – it’s something many of us have suspected for a long time. But now there is evidence to back up the suspicions that dogs actually make us happier.

The online pet care service provider, Rover.com, has newly revealed The Anatomy of Dog Love Report – a data analysis that comes from data within their large organization of pet care providers.

What was found, was that owning a dog can have promising ramifications on our relationships with others. As a result of their findings in the surveys by Rover, 56% of dog owners have revealed that they spend more time with a significant other as a result of having a dog. Out of that particular group, 71% revealed that after seeing how their significant other cares for their dog, they became more attracted to them.

Besides these findings, Rover also discovered that partners who support a dog together help the couple become better at communication and problem solving, as well as break down gender role stereotypes! Who’d have known?

While this is all great for couples who own a dog together, single people shouldn’t be too despondent. According to the same Rover report, 72% of people surveyed have claimed that they are far more likely to click on a dating profile that features a dog in the photo. So, perhaps you need more selfies with your pet!
