Dogs age just like us. When they become senior citizens, sometimes they experience troubles just like any older person. For Sharla Wilson, moving into a new apartment posed a big of a challenge for her elderly pug. The poor dog was getting lost inside the new place, and as a result, started howling for help. It became a reoccurring problem.
So, trying to be a good, new neighbor, Sharla posted a note of apology on her door.
As it would turn out, the note that she posted was then captured in a picture by one of her neighbors, who posted it online. From there, the sincere note ended up getting a viral response as thousands upon thousands of fellow dog owners and dog lovers liked, shared, and commented on the note. Of course, all of them were completely fine that her pug, Charleston, had to howl to get out of his predicament.

As Sharla’s letter read, “Hello, Neighbors! My name is Charleston Chew and I’m very sorry for my howling. I’m an old man now, with cataracts, and sometimes I get real scared because I can’t see where I am and can’t find my mom. As I get used to my new place, I will start to settle down. Thanks for being patient with me. I don’t mean to be such a pain. Charleston Chew Pug Apt 502.”
His adorable howl was even caught on camera:
Well, you asked for it. He smelled a dandelion he couldn’t locate and howls galore ensued… pic.twitter.com/8ACenw95G1

As a result of Charleston’s owner’s note to her neighbors, the pair ended up receiving some community recognition. There was a limited-edition coffee blend created by Curly Tail Coffee, as well as a Wyze Cam to track Charleston Chew.

What a lucky pug – everyone would love to have a coffee named after them. Keep on howling Charleston.
