How Often Should A Dog Urinate?

My Dog Does Not Urinate Enough My Australian Shepherd is a wonderful girl (she’s a therapy dog). My only problem is on long drives (2 days) she will go 12 – 15 hours without urinating. When I stop for gas, I walk her. I walk her in the morning outside the hotel and again before we leave as well as soon as we stop prior to checking in and again before bedtime. Often she usually goes without urinating for twelve or more hours. How do I ensure she relieves herself? She is always well hydrated. Dr. Kristy Conn’s Advice Urinary

Growing Up With Pit Bulls

By Cesar Millan My sons grew up with pit bulls. There was a lot of prejudice against pit bulls back then just as there is today, and I can remember them getting asked what they thought about pit bulls. They wouldn’t know how to respond to that question. Because my kids just like all children don’t think along the lines of breed. “Breedism” is something that society pushes on them later in life. I have pictures of Andre with his bottle lying down on Daddy. The first time he played with water in a bucket, he was surrounded by 20

The History Of Beagles

Beagle ancestors used for hunting Although there seems to be no reliable documentation about the early ancestry of Beagles, there are accounts of dogs of similar size being used to for hunting in Greece in the 5th century BCE. There was no formal name given to these dogs, however, they are considered to be the early ancestors of the first Beagles. Eighth-century records document an early scent hound known as the St. Hubert Hound, from which the Talbot Hound breed was created. The Talbot Hound was brought to England in the 11th-century through the travels of William the Conqueror. While

Picture Perfect Pit Bulls

Douglas Sonders doesn’t like to hear people use the term “bully breed” when they speak about pit bulls or other breeds such as Rottweilers and boxers. He especially doesn’t want to hear it when it comes to Emma, his own adorable pit bull mix. “Emma,” he’s quick to point out, “is naturally gentle, great with kids and other dogs, and an excellent running partner,” although she does have a tendency to sneak into his bed when he’s not home. Sonders, a New York City photographer, has teamed up with Cesar to launch a campaign to challenge the stereotype of pits

How Did Pit Bulls Get Such A Bad Rap?

If current news reports are to be believed, pit bulls have been attacking and biting humans left and right—to the point that many communities are considering breed-specific bans on pit bulls. Would it surprise you to learn that pit bulls used to be America’s darlings? Before the mid-80s, stories of pit bull attacks are practically non-existent. There is even some confusion over exactly which breed of dog is a pit bull — the definition includes the American pit bull terrier, the Staffordshire terrier and, at times, the bulldog.
