In Florida, a brewery is doing some wonderful work for shelter dogs by creating some of the most adorable beer cans ever.
Motorworks Brewing, located in Bradington, has begun to include the face of a different shelter dog on cans in their special edition four-pack beers. Each of these shelter dogs is searching for a forever home.
And the proceeds are going to Shelter Manatee. And according to the director of sales and marketing for the company, Barry Elwonger, two of the dogs to be featured on the cans, Morton and King, have already been adopted.
“The response so far has just been incredibly overwhelming,” Elwonger said. “The community is just in love with the project, as are we. The outreach has just been fantastic, which is the point of the project – to raise that awareness. We’ve been over the moon for the last couple of days.”

According to Elwonger, 200 of the four packs have been sold by the brewery. Elwonger is confident that they won’t have a problem selling the 450 four-pack target that they set. The beer selected for the promotion is the Cruiser Golden Lager.
“We’re planning on brewing a lot more of it,” Elwonger said.
Elwonger stated that Motorworks opened six years ago, and every third Sunday, Motorworks has held a dog-related event. Their specialty “Adoptable Dog” beer was a part of the “Yappy Hour” release.
“We know that we’re driving eyes toward the shelter and finding these dogs homes,” Elwonger said.
He added, “The dog love is pretty much across our entire company and is something that is near and dear to our hearts, our leadership’s hearts and has always been in mind with our ethos as a company.”
