A 2015 survey from the American Pet Products Association found that more than 54 million households in the U.S. have a dog. To accommodate them, top restaurants across the country are opening up to pet owners and their furry dinner dates.

No matter where you and your dog roam, you’ll find a growing array of dog-friendly restaurants in virtually every major U.S. city. We’ve scoured the country looking for the tastiest and pooch-friendliest spots around, and have highlighted our favorites below.

Atlanta, Georgia
Joy Cafe
Dogs are welcome on the front patio of Joy Cafe — one of Atlanta’s favorite brunch spots. The eatery is owned by a husband and wife who cobble rustic brunch specialties together from local ingredients.

Chicago, Illinois
Rogers Park Social Club
If you’re a pet owner with a taste for artisanal cocktails, Rogers Park Social Club is for you. Pay a visit to this neighborhood hub to sample one of the cocktails carefully curated by co-owners Erik Archambeault and William Meek. Our favorite is the mescal mule with ginger beer and fresh lime.

Houston, Texas
Mocking Bird Bistro
When designing Mocking Bird Bistro, chef and owner John Sheely set out to create a casual joint where folks could relax over wine and American comfort favorites. Your pooch can sprawl out on the rustic front porch while you enjoy some of Houston’s finest seafood.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Egg Works
The Egg & I
You’ll find Egg Works locations speckled across the Las Vegas area, in addition to its sister restaurant, The Egg & I. Head to the dog-friendly outdoor seating area at one of these cheerful eateries to dig into a signature egg dish, such as the Hawaiian-style Loco Moco or an eggs Benedict with blackened rib eye steak.

Los Angeles, California
Frisco’s
Nestled in a suburb of Los Angeles, Frisco’s has been doling out 1950s diner-style favorites to L.A. locals and visitors alike for more than three decades. You and your dog are welcome to take a table on the restaurant’s outdoor patio, where roller-skating waitresses balance trays of creamy milkshakes and juicy burgers.

Miami, Florida
Ms. Cheezious
There is a dizzying array of specialty grilled cheeses on the menu at Ms. Cheezious, oozing with inspired toppings like buffalo tempeh and spiced apples. Sit yourself down on one of the long wooden tables out back and enjoy a craft beer beneath the shade of a towering tree and in the company of your furriest friend.

New York, New York
Barking Dog Restaurant
Barking Dog bills itself as a “family-friendly option the whole family can enjoy — including the dog!” The renowned NYC establishment even features a doggy fountain where your dog can mingle with other four-legged patrons while you linger over fresh-squeezed orange juice and banana buttermilk pancakes. If you go for weekend brunch, though, be sure to arrive early as the lines can get pretty long.

Orlando, Florida
Yellow Dog Eats
Innovative chef Fish Morgan bustles about the kitchen of Yellow Dog Eats, folding lean meats and more than 15 varieties of locally grown baby greens into artisanal sandwiches and flavorful barbeque. The colorful eatery honors its furry patrons by titling its dishes with canine-inspired names like “Retrievers Roast” and “Classic Mexican Mutt.” Pet owners can fritter away hours in the landscape garden, sipping brews while their dogs chase butterflies.

San Diego, California
Dog House Bar & Grill
The sprawling rear patio at Dog House Bar & Grill features a dog run, and both on- and off-leash areas. In addition to small plates, craft drafts, and inventive cocktails, the lively joint offers dishes whipped up especially for dogs, including Angus beef “dog burgers” and hot dogs.

Washington, DC
Le Diplomate
Stroll past the bustling outdoor patio of this French-inspired cafe and you might spot patrons sipping Kir royales as their dogs nap in the sun. The menu at Le Diplomate focuses on French culinary classics, and the crusty baguettes are made in-house.
